A family-run travel agency, Lost in Sicily is based in beautiful Catania, Sicily’s capital. They specialise in offering trips in Sicily and suggested that the brand conveys a traditional symbol unique to Sicily. We experimented with logos featuring recognisable ‘Teste di Moro’ (ceramic heads) and an abstraction of the ‘Trinacria’ (Sicilian triskelion). Finally we settled on a design illustrating the ‘Carretti Siciliani’ – the famous painted cart wheel(s) of Sicily. These are considered to be one of the most beautifully crafted heritage items in Italy and are normally painted with bright primary colours. We used a colour palette of deep turquoise, gold and white to appeal to the luxury travel market.
